Junior Guidance

College Preparation: Juniors that plan on attending college should be doing the following:

  1. Take the PSAT for practice and scholarship opportunities.
  2. Research college options.
  3. Research career and major options.
  4. Start planning for financial aid.
  5. Study and take the SAT www.collegeboard.org and ACT www.act.org . If you are going to apply using the top 10% east admission dates; you need to take the ACT and/or SAT early in your Junior year.
  6. Continue to work hard in your classes and keep up your GPA.
  7. Continue or start extra-curricular activities or community service. Colleges are looking for well rounded students.
  8. Look for announcements for college fairs or college nights at neighboring schools.
  9. Take a college tour during the summer
